Voice actors, comic book artists, and tons of vendors converge in Albany for one of the Capital Region’s largest Comic Cons. Come dressed in cosplay or not, all are welcome!

Local vendors set up inside Ketcham HS in Wappingers Falls, NY, drawing in 1000+ people for a homegrown comic con. Come dressed as your favorite comic book character, or walk around and enjoy the fun. Comics, toys, books, art, and food available! Two other (outdoor) events are happening at the same time outside, so there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy.

Over 60 authors attend this two-day event in upstate New York. Guests can attend a variety of events across the small artist’s town, made picturesque by the fall foliage.

More than 100 local and famous authors attend this festival for meet-and-greets, book talks, signings, and panels. It is sponsored by the NYS Writer’s Institute at the University of Albany.

Local craft and food vendors set up outside an animal hospital as part of New Windsor’s Annual Community Day shortly after the start of the new school year. Proceeds from renting a spot at the venue go to the Hudson Valley SPCA, bringing awareness to the plight of animals in the area.

Local vendors from all walks of life come together at this indoor artisan craft fair. This family-friendly event, located inside the Poughkeepsie Galleria, helps people beat the early summer heat and supports small businesses in the area.

Roy C. Ketcham HS in Wappingers, NY, hosted a craft fair. Phenomenal crochet crafters, comic book artists, and local authors like me were bathed in sunshine at this spring event. I met some lovely people, including some students and staff taking a break from an event inside the school.

Blodgett Library in Fishkill, NY, hosted an event for the community to meet local authors and illustrators. Complete with drinks, snacks, and smiles, residents could sit back and enjoy their time learning about the writing process and discovering new books.

Sponsored by local businesses and Friends of the Poughkeepsie Library, this festival featured a wide range of authors and illustrators. In hopes of promoting literacy, children aged 17 and under each received one book voucher for a free book. The event was packed with vendors and visitors alike and was a truly humbling experience!
