Local craft and food vendors set up outside an animal hospital as part of New Windsor’s Annual Community Day shortly after the start of the new school year. Proceeds from renting a spot at the venue go to the Hudson Valley SPCA, bringing awareness to the plight of animals in the area.

Roy C. Ketcham HS in Wappingers, NY, hosted a craft fair. Phenomenal crochet crafters, comic book artists, and local authors like me were bathed in sunshine at this spring event. I met some lovely people, including some students and staff taking a break from an event inside the school.

Blodgett Library in Fishkill, NY, hosted an event for the community to meet local authors and illustrators. Complete with drinks, snacks, and smiles, residents could sit back and enjoy their time learning about the writing process and discovering new books.

Sponsored by local businesses and Friends of the Poughkeepsie Library, this festival featured a wide range of authors and illustrators. In hopes of promoting literacy, children aged 17 and under each received one book voucher for a free book. The event was packed with vendors and visitors alike and was a truly humbling experience!
